
Baked Berry French Toast
Who doesn’t love an easy, crowd-pleasing breakfast on the weekend? This baked french toast is sweetly spiced and ready in less than 15 minutes.
Ingredients
- 1 loaf of quality sourdough bread, cut into roughly 5cm cubes
- 6 eggs, beaten
- 2 tsp Herbie’s Fragrant Sweet Spice Blend
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 cups fresh berries
- 125ml (1/2 cup) maple syrup
- 1 tsp Herbie’s Spice Dust
Instructions
- Heat oven to 180C. Whisk the eggs with fragrant sweet spice blend. Use 1 tsp of the butter to grease a baking dish.
- Add the bread to bowl and coat in egg mixture thoroughly (you can do this the night before and leave the bread to soak up the egg). Dot remaining butter on top of the bread and bake for 10-12 minutes until golden.
- Top with berries, maple syrup and spice dust. Serve with creme fraiche or yoghurt if desired.
