Packaging:
Flavours of herbs and spices are contained in the volatile oils held in their cell structures, so good quality packaging is essential to ensuring the customer gets the very best possible quality. This is why all Herbie’s Spices products are packed in a high barrier, nylon laminate, re-sealable pouch, which has a low oxygen transference rate. This means optimum freshness of flavour and shelf life.

Herbie’s Spices for Retail Stores:
Herbie’s labelling meets all Australian and most overseas regulations with respect to declared weights, statement as to allergens if present, content of local or imported materials, ingredient listings and “best before” date for freshness. Spice blends also carry a nutrition panel. Barcodes are on all products.

Restaurants & Caterers:
Herbies spices and all natural spice blends are also available in 250g, 500g, and 1Kg flexible, stand up re-sealable pouches. Smaller amounts are available for very high-cost items, like saffron and vanilla products. All products are HACCP certified and are vegetarian and vegan friendly. Food service products are packed to order to achieve maximum freshness. No canisters of bags packed and waiting around to be sent!

Effective merchandising of herbs and spices makes them easier to buy and helps to maintain quality and freshness. The key elements to have in place for well merchandised herbs and spices are:

• Display in alphabetical order.
• Display in an accessible location where customers can ‘browse’ and impulse buy.
• Keep away from direct sunlight and sources of heat.
• Put new stock behind current, so first stock in sells out first.
• Remove stock with less than three months remaining until the ‘best before’ date.
• Never order more than you think you will need. Herbie’s Spices delivery lead times are short and there is no minimum order quantity.
• ‘Feature’ a variety from time to time with a related product, this gives extra sales of both, eg display some extra Dukkah with Turkish bread and Guacamole with avocados.

We have a ‘core’ range of 32 varieties that are recommended, based upon our own experience, sales history and the style of store you own. For retailers wishing to carry only 16 varieties, the best 16 to carry are marked with an asterisk (*). You may vary this to suit your own requirements, or phone us to discuss your particular needs. Simply decide which store type best fits the profile of your store from the list below.

This range will fit into two Herbie’s Spices 16 pocket display racks and if 4 packs of each variety are ordered the total investment in stock will be approximately $450.00.

The Herbie’s Spices display unit holds 4 tiers of 4 varieties, facilitating the merchandising of 16 varieties per unit. The unit is of a robust wire construction and available in a high quality, silver-plated finish. The unit can sit directly on a shelf and has strong hooks allowing it to be hung from a wall or other support. An attractive printed display card is also provided.

Due to the cost of manufacture and the historical experience of difficulty in retrieving display racks no longer required by a retailer, we need to charge a refundable $71.50 (including GST) deposit on each display module.

6.1 Exclusivity:
We do not grant exclusivity of supply to any one store in any geographic area. However, your store is recognised as a specialty retail outlet. Herbie’s Spices objective is to sell to specialty stores only and not mainstream supermarkets, giving you the confidence that your customers will not see our products in cut price establishments. We do mail order and sell via the Internet. However the prices charged are always the Recommended Retail Prices as shown on our price list, plus packing and postage.

6.2 Advice:
Herbie’s Spices will support your staff with advice about the proper use of herbs and spices.  You can telephone, fax or e-mail any questions you may have been asked, and we will have an answer for you immediately or within forty-eight hours.

6.3 Flexibility:
Because no minimum order quantities are imposed, either by product variety or for the total order, you have the flexibility of meeting nearly every customer request for herbs and spices without having to hold large quantities of stock.

A complete product list with wholesale and recommended retail prices (RRP) is available to registered businesses with an ABN. There is no GST on culinary herbs and spices, however there are few products within the range that are not classified as culinary herbs & Spices and do attract GST.

Our trading terms are on a Pro-Forma basis. Upon receipt of your order, we will advise the total invoice value including freight. When payment is received (either by cheque, direct credit or credit card) the goods will be dispatched.
Freight will be charged on all orders at the going rate.
We do not deliver C.O.D. as carriers charge commission on this service.

Any requests for credit & returns, due to picking or ordering errors must be advised within 7 working days of receiving the order.

We do accept returns for product with less than 3 months shelf life remaining, and will credit 50% of the product cost. Freight costs for returning out of date stock is the responsibility of the store.
