Description

This Australian Native River Mint, also known as Wild Mint and Poang-Gurk in Koori, has a refreshing, clean-tasting, peppermint-like flavour and a heady minty aroma.

Use as a substitute for peppermint in chocolate flavoured recipes, and as an interesting alternative to spearmint.

Wild Mint, Poang-Gurk in Koori. Botanical Name: (Mentha Australis)

Aussie Raita Recipe

This refreshing version of Raita is delicious with kangaroo and other game meats.

  • ½ cucumber, finely grated and excess water drained
  • 250ml (1 cup) plain Greek yoghurt
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 tsp Herbie’s Native River Mint

In a small bowl, combine all the ingredients and serve chilled. Best eaten the same day it is made.
