Spiced Orange Black Bean Cake

This delicious, gluten and refined-sugar free chocolate cake does not taste of black beans at all and is always a hit at the table!  We like the combination of Mixed Spice with the orange zest, however many of our sweet blends will pair well, or try adding 1/2 teaspoon of chilli powder for something different.

  1. Pre-heat oven to 180C and line a 23cm springform cake tin.
  2. Add beans to a food processor, pulse, then add remaining ingredients, stopping to scrape down edges until combined and smooth.
  3. Pour into prepared tin and bake for 40 minutes until just a slight wobble in the centre.  Remove to cool on a wire rack before removing from cake tin.
  4. Top with remaining zest and serve.
  5. Keep in an airtight container in the fridge for 2 days.
