Honey Soy Chicken

This is a great recipe for kids to make, and leftovers are fantastic in fried-rice.  Our classic Chinese Five Spice adds loads of natural flavour to this winning combination of flavours.  Broccoli also makes a good alternative to bok choy.

Ingredients

1 kg chicken leg and thigh, skin on

60ml (4 tbsp) soy sauce

1 tbsp sesame oil

1 tbsp honey

1 tbsp Herbie’s Chinese Five Spice

200g bok choy or tenderstem broccoli

Instructions

  1. Pre-heat oven to 180C.
  2. Combine marinade ingredients in a bowl, then place the chicken pieces in a bag with marinade and rub to throughly coat.  You can refrigerate for an hour or overnight, or cook straight away.
  3. Put chicken in a roasting tray and cook for 40 minutes, basting once.
  4. Add vegetables to tray, coating in pan juices and cook for a further 10 minutes until tender.
