Garden Angelica. Botanical Name: (Angelica archangelica)
Description & Use
Angelica is an attractive, flowering biennial that has celery-like hollow stems which grow to 2.5m high. Cake decorators would be familiar with the bright green crystallised stem, a traditional garnish for cakes and sweet biscuits.
However, Angelica Root is very different to the stem, and is an important ingredient in liqueurs such as vermouth and chartreuse, bespoke London dry gins, and other alcoholic beverages.
