Quatre Epices simply means four spices. However, these are four very special spices that have been brought together in a traditional European blend that is used to season meat for charcuterie. The Nutmeg, Ginger and Cloves counteract the somewhat musty aroma of white pepper, making Quatre Epices an interesting table pepper to use instead of ordinary ground black or white Pepper.
