Barbeque Bread Sticks
Description
Everyone loves bread sticks fresh from the oven, all soft and buttery on the inside with crispy, crumbly crust. To make a change from the usual garlic butter, add whatever Herbie's Spices spice mix you like to season the butter.

2 French Sticks
4 tablespoons butter, room temperature
3 cloves garlic, crushed
1 or 2 tablespoons Herbie’s Spices Smokey BBQ Spice
2 long French bread sticks
Methods/steps

In a bowl, mix the butter, garlic and spice mixture thoroughly.

Slice the bread sticks diagonally – cut right through, as nothing is more difficult than trying to take a slice of bread that is still attached to its neighbour by its bottom crust – especially if you have a glass or a plate in your other hand.

Line a baking dish with cooking foil, leaving enough overlapping to fold across over the top.

Spread each slice generously with the spiced butter and pack into the pan, re-assembling the loaves as you go.

Fold the flaps of foil loosely over the top once all the bread has been done. The idea is to allow the oven heat inside the foil so that the top crust is crunchy while the bread inside is moist and warm.

Bake in a pre-heated oven at 200ºC for 15 minutes and serve immediately.
